SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN:
I am taking submissions for a poetry/artist dialogue series I am starting. I hope to have the series post here regularly (though not on a strict schedule, due to the nature of how it is conducted).
Submit 1-3 poems (I will say I prefer lengthier poetry, but certainly emphasize there are no stipulations in style, content etc.)
If your poetry is selected to be featured, we will then have a “casual, in-depth dialogue” about it which will be featured with the text of the poems. When I say “casual” I do not mean “So, what made you want to write poetry?” or such worthless, irrelevant footnote stuff, I just mean I have no critical agenda, and any questions I formulate, while in depth and philosophically charged, are meant only as exploratory of a rapport—both myself and any poet featured will agree to try to avoid name dropping, out-references, explanations via “citing the thoughts of others” and such things so that the poetry-at-hand, through the personalities and philosophies of the parties-at-hand, is all that is on display for active consideration. I want the discussions to be involved but freeform.
By way of giving an example of dialogues I have conducted with poets, I include the PDF texts of larger dialogues with Canadian poet Darrell Epp and American poet Victoria Brockmeier—NOTE: these dialogues were conducted for the dialogue series Predicate and are lengthier than the ones which will be conducted for this current series.
Once the full dialogue has been conducted, it and the poems will be made available as a single download through the site. If you would like to do audio readings of your verse, I would love to include it with the final presentation, but this is not required.
